Voice & Body

Embodied Voice

Your voice doesn't lie.

Not just in the words you choose or how confidently you speak, but in the frequencies themselves. The parts of the vocal spectrum that are present, and the parts that have gone quiet, are a direct reflection of your baseline nervous system state. Where there's holding, where there's survival pattern, where there's numbness, the voice will show it.

This makes the voice something remarkable: it's both the diagnostic and the solution. It reveals where you've gone offline. And it's also the pathway back.

Working with the voice in this way, combining operatic training with somatic and trauma-informed practice, is about restoring the full spectrum. Bringing back the frequencies that have been suppressed or lost. Because the work happens vibrationally, in the body rather than in the mind, the shifts that happen here tend to stick.

A freer voice is a natural outcome. But most people find that what changes is bigger than that: the way they take up space, trust themselves, and show up in their lives.

This is what
a session feels like.

A glimpse into a real voice activation session, the presence, the sound, the space held throughout.

The voice as
diagnostic and doorway.

The voice isn't separate from the nervous system. It's an extension of it. Here's what's actually happening when the voice begins to open.

Frequency Reflects State

The vocal folds are directly connected to the vagus nerve. A constricted, breathy, or monotone voice often reflects a nervous system stuck in protection. As safety increases, the vocal range naturally expands.

Result: a fuller, richer, more dynamic voice as a side effect of nervous system regulation.

Feeling vs. Judging

Most people relate to their voice from the outside, monitoring how it sounds. This act of observation pulls you out of the body. Learning to feel the voice from the inside, as vibration and sensation, keeps you present rather than self-conscious.

Result: less performance anxiety, more presence, even in high-stakes moments.

Vibration Repatterns

Sound is physical. When you make sound, your body vibrates. This vibration can reach places that talking about an issue cannot, releasing held tension in the throat, chest, jaw, diaphragm, and base.

Result: shifts that are felt in the body, not just understood in the mind, which is why they tend to last.

The Voice Reveals Patterns

How you use your voice mirrors how you move through life. Where you go quiet, where you push, where you apologise before you've said anything. These patterns become visible and workable in real time.

Result: insight that doesn't stay theoretical. You feel the pattern shift as it happens.

Operatic Precision

Years of classical training mean this work isn't guesswork. There's a precise understanding of breath support, resonance, and vocal mechanics, applied gently, in service of opening rather than performance.

Result: technical mastery held lightly, so the work never feels like a singing lesson unless you want it to.

Curious what your
voice is holding?

The only way to really know is to experience it.

The shape of
a session.

01

Arriving & grounding

We start by settling into the body, beginning with the base, with breath and gentle movement to soften the entire instrument, from the base to the jaw.

02

Exploring sound

Simple sounds and tones, with no pressure around how they "should" sound. Just noticing what's there.

03

Following what arises

Whatever comes up, whether emotion, memory, or resistance, becomes part of the work rather than an interruption to it.

04

Integration

Time to notice what's shifted, in the voice and in the body, and how that might carry into daily life.

3

Coaches, teachers, and speakers who want their voice to carry the full weight of what they have to say.

4

Anyone who has done significant inner work already, but feels there's a final layer of expression still waiting.

5

People recovering their voice after a vocal injury, burnout, or a long period of not feeling heard.

Before & after
your session.

Before

No preparation needed, and certainly no need to "warm up" beforehand. Wear something comfortable that doesn't constrict the chest or waist. Come as you are, including if you're tired, stressed, or unsure what to expect.

After

Your voice may feel different, sometimes more tired, sometimes more alive. Both are normal. Drink water, and give yourself a little quiet time before jumping back into a busy schedule if you can.

"Within our voice there is so much liberation to be found and Camila was a master helping me to bring it forward. As a pleasure and intimacy coach I work with the body, it was amazing to meet someone with both a professional experience of voice work and being an embodiment expert."

Li Tadaa

Queer Dancer, Somatic Practitioner & Lust Coach

"The way she held space for me felt safe, nurturing, and deeply authentic. She met me exactly where I was. Her presence helped me relax and open up in ways I hadn't before, not just with my voice, but with my whole being. It wasn't just a singing class; it was a journey back home to myself."

Krisztina Gyimes

Breathwork Facilitator, Psychologist & Somatic Art Therapist

"She has been the first and only person to explain these concepts in a way that my body actually understood. I've been singing my whole life, so I genuinely didn't expect a few small shifts to make such a profound difference. Yet almost immediately, my voice felt freer, fuller, and more effortless."

Frequently
asked.

Not at all. Around half the people who come to this work have no interest in singing. This isn't about performance or hitting the right notes. It's about the relationship between your voice and your nervous system, which everyone has, regardless of musical background.

That fear is actually really common, and often exactly the thing the work addresses. We move at a pace that respects where you are. Nothing is forced. The container is built to feel safe enough that the voice can emerge on its own timeline.

Singing lessons typically focus on technique and performance. Speech therapy typically focuses on function and clarity. This work sits underneath both, on the relationship between the voice and the nervous system. The technical skill is there if needed, but it's in service of something deeper.

1:1 sessions are tailored entirely to you and go deepest, fastest. Group workshops offer the added dimension of being witnessed and witnessing others, which is its own kind of medicine. However, they don't follow your individual process. The full-day immersion provides space for the work to unfold over a longer arc, offering the most profound and long-lasting results.

Yes, often profoundly so, though indirectly. Rather than teaching presentation techniques, this work addresses the underlying ease (or lack of it) in how you occupy space and use your voice. Many people find that confidence in speaking situations is a natural byproduct.
