Breath

Singing BreathFlow

This is breathwork without the overwhelm.

Most breathwork focuses on the inhale: the effort, the push, the activation. The singing breath works the other way around.

It begins with the exhale. A full, natural release that creates a vacuum, and then, when the body softens, the air simply arrives. No effort. No doing. The body receives what it needs, because you got out of the way.

This is the most physiologically natural way to breathe, and it's also one of the most radical things you can offer a nervous system that has learned to brace, to push, and to work hard for everything.

Because breath is constant, with every single cycle you're embedding something new: that ease is available, that you don't have to coerce your way to what you need, that the body knows how to receive when you let it.

Stagnant energy moves. Space opens. The body remembers a different way of being. Sessions close with a short sound healing using crystal bowls and voice.

closes each session.

A short recording of crystal bowls and voice. Headphones recommended.

The exhale
is the doorway.

Most breathwork asks the body to do more. This asks it to do less, and that distinction matters more than it might seem.

The Vacuum Effect

A complete exhale creates negative pressure in the lungs. The inhale that follows happens by itself, drawing air in without any muscular effort. This is the body's natural design, often overridden by years of shallow, anxious breathing.

Result: breath becomes something received rather than something done.

Vagal Tone & Safety

Long, soft exhales activate the parasympathetic nervous system through the vagus nerve. This shifts the body out of fight-or-flight and into a state where rest, digestion, and emotional processing become possible.

Result: a felt sense of safety that builds with every cycle.

Gentle, Not Activating

Many breathwork styles deliberately push the body into intense, altered states. This is the opposite. The aim is regulation, not activation, working with the body's pace rather than overriding it.

Result: accessible for people who find intense breathwork overwhelming or destabilising.

The Singing Breath

Drawing on operatic breath support, the breath is full, low, and connected to the voice. This isn't about performance, but about a quality of breath that's naturally deeper and more sustainable than most people access day to day.

Result: a breath pattern you can carry with you long after the session ends.

Repetition Repatterns

Every breath cycle is an opportunity to practise receiving rather than striving. Repeated often enough, this becomes the body's new default, a baseline of ease rather than effort.

Result: a nervous system that doesn't need a crisis to find calm.

receiving feels like?

Singing BreathFlow session with Camila Rivera

For nervous systems
that are tired of bracing.

1

Anyone who has tried breathwork before and found it too intense, activating, or overwhelming.

2

People who hold their breath without realising it, especially under stress or pressure.

3

Those looking for a daily practice that's genuinely sustainable, not another thing to push through.

4

Anyone wanting to pair breath with voice and sound for a more embodied, multi-sensory experience.

5

People in the middle of a busy or demanding period of life, who need rest that doesn't take hours to access.

Before & after
your session.

Before

Wear loose, comfortable clothing. Avoid a heavy meal in the hour beforehand. If you're joining a 1:1 session lying down, having a blanket and cushion nearby can help.

After

Many people feel a pleasant heaviness or softness afterwards. Give yourself a few quiet minutes before moving on with your day. Drinking water afterwards can help with any sensations of lightness.

Frequently
asked.

Likely not. Many popular breathwork styles use rapid, forceful breathing to induce intense altered states. Singing BreathFlow is gentler and slower, focused on the exhale and on regulation rather than activation. If intense breathwork hasn't felt right for you before, this may feel quite different.

No, though sound may arise naturally and is always welcome if it does. The "singing" in Singing BreathFlow refers to the quality and support of the breath itself, drawn from operatic training, not to vocalising during the session.

This is common and welcomed. The breath can be a gentle pathway to emotions that haven't had space to move. The session is held in a way that allows whatever arises, whether that's tears, laughter, stillness, or nothing at all.

Because this practice is gentle and led by your own capacity rather than a fixed pace, many people with respiratory sensitivities find it accessible. That said, please mention any health conditions beforehand so the session can be adapted appropriately.

Many people feel a shift after a single session. The deeper value comes from repetition, as the nervous system learns this new pattern as familiar. Some people build this into a regular practice; others return periodically when they feel they need it.
